Cruising Miss Norma

"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone."

~Neale Donald Walsch

If you haven't been there yet, it is likely you will have to do this some day.

While we were cleaning out Norma's house after her death we were trying to figure out what our new normal would be. We were lost and for some crazy reason we decided to buy a little red tug boat.

Having very little knowledge about boating our buyers remorse set in very quickly. What had we done?

Then, in the musty basement, among 91 years of memories, thoughtfully tucked away in a child's sketch book, we found this drawing of a little red tug boat. It was signed "NJG 1936" (Norma Jean Gates). Miss Norma was eleven years old and enamored with tug boats. We went on to find more sketches and photographs of tugs in her things.

It was time for us to jump out of our comfort zone and onto a boat! Thanks, Mom.
